Peirce Equestrian
located at 21384 Ceder Lane in Tyler, Texas is the only trainer with a program
in East Texas, traveling to USEF/USHJA ‘A’ & ‘AA’ shows, our mission is to
provide the highest level of riding instruction, quality horse care, and
successful horse training in a professional, fun, and supportive environment.
Learning to ride and learning to ride well are two different
things. We take pride in growing astute riders, and mounts. Through a
customized approach, and an immersive environment, we devote the time and
energy to teach safe and proper skills to both the horse and rider for success
in and out of the show ring.
Horses and horse shows specifically teach many lessons that
will carry over into your rider’s personal and professional life. Watching young riders to the most experience
riders’ transformation to a show ring ready competitor is a sight to
behold. However, aside from the fun, pageantry,
and showiness of it all are the life lessons and the bond that is born between
horse and rider.
Horse showing teaches your rider to problem solve and think
through issues when they arise in the ring and in life. Every athlete goes
through a slump. To horse show
successfully, you have to learn to solve each issue that will arise. Horses,
like people, have good days and not so good days. A gifted rider will be bonded to their horse
and know when to push and when to take it a little slower for the greater
good. Patience and understanding are two
skills that will serve the show rider well.
This is a hands on sport and participation is another key to success.
It takes a countless hours and hard work to horse show,
whether you’re an entry level rider or a national competitor. To have success
even once in a while takes determination and practice.
Setting goals is an important life skill and horse showing
gives you so many opportunities to do just that. Setting goals like qualifying
for certain events, getting in the ribbons, winning a class, or riding through
a difficult pattern will allow you the opportunity to learn all that they can
achieve. At Peirce Equestrian you will learn about fitness, preparation and
remaining healthy so that the rider and horse are fit to show. Showing horses
teaches us how to adjust to life in so many ways.
There are numerous responsibilities in caring for a horse
that totally depends on humans for his care. Scheduling lessons, practice
riding and readying a horse for the show ring all take time and are great
experiences in responsibility.
Horse showing will teach riders how to be a gracious winner
and how to lose with dignity. It is about learning a pattern and riding through
adversity; think of an outdoor show in the wind, rain, and mud. Not every ride will go perfectly and many of
the real lessons are from the rides that do not go your way. Losing and winning teaches you how to manage
his or her emotions and stay on track to attain their goals. The ability to control one's emotions is a
lesson that will serve all well for not only the show ring, but in life.
Peirce Equestrian’s greatest pride comes from watching our
students succeed. Competitions are exciting and help showcase just how far your
hard work has taken you.
As our clients and their horses/ponies grow into a
proficient team, they will have the opportunity to compete. Peirce Equestrian
attends schooling and Dallas Hunter Jumper Scholarship shows. We are also
active in the USHJA/USEF ‘A’ & ‘AA’ Circuit which can take you throughout
Texas, and to Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Colorado. For more information visit http://peirceequestrian.com/ or contact
